PSL continue association with the HMS Liverpool

During the recent return of the HMS Liverpool to its home city, Powder Systems Limited (PSL) have kept alive their association with the type 42 destroyer.

As a Liverpool based manufacturing company keen to break into new overseas markets, PSL first used the services of the ship back in 2000 where they held an industry day in New York on board the warship. Ever since HMS Liverpool has played an important part in PSL’s efforts to extend their overseas markets. In 2003 HMS Liverpool was used as an interesting setting for PSL in Tokyo, Japan on which to hold an exhibition for some 70 plus key clients and potential customers.

This event gave PSL a prestigious image to Japanese customers as some of the clients who attended are now currently working on a major contract with PSL. Earlier this week these customers were able to meet up with Liverpool born Commander Henry Duffy and selected officers during a tour of PSL’s headquarters in Speke, Liverpool. In return a number of PSL employees were able to enjoy tours of the ship.

Promoting Liverpool & UK industry abroad has always been an important function of the ship, even more so recently as an official ambassador to Liverpool as Capital of Culture. A PSL spokesman said ‘PSL are very appreciative of the efforts of HMS Liverpool. Our relationship so far has proven fruitful and long may it continue.’
