Contained Filter Dryer OEL Testing - Webcast

Brian Ward (ex Eli Lilly) and Michelle Frisch (PSL) presented a technical paper at the ISPE Containment Seminar in Amsterdam.

This presentation outlined testing protocols followed when OEL testing containment equipment. The interesting discussion challenged some of the ISPE Good Practice, formally SMEPAC guidelines, offering a more engineering based approach to measuring the potential exposure an operator may face when using containment equipment instead of PPE.

The ISPE containment conference was recently held in Amsterdam. Delegates heard from experts and worldwide regulators, providing a forum to keep abreast of current trends, challenges and practical solutions.

The seminar examined the latest developments and innovations in the containment of potent compounds within the pharmaceutical industry, considering R & D right through to manufacturing. Regulatory information on GMP, RISK-MAPP and other quality and containment issues were provided together alongside an update on the latest industry guidance documents.

Leading international speakers Michelle Frisch (PSL) and Brian Ward (Lilly) presented a paper “Factory Commissioning of a Contained Filter Dryer”.

This interesting presentation and discussion will be available as a webcast on www.powdersystems.com in 2008.

Moderated workshops on hot topics of containment practice also took place, offering open discussion of issues such as the use of placebos in performance assessment and the experience with flexible containment systems.

This ISPE containment conference is the leading forum in Europe for innovations in containment solutions, industry development and regulatory issues.
