Contained Heel Removal

Given the commercial value of ever more potent compounds, product yield is of increasing importance during drug development & processing. The PSL contained heel removal glovebox is a proven method of maximising product recovery.

Heel is recovered using a specially designed retractable rake from within the glovebox, and subsequently discharged via a PSL ChargePoint high containment powder transfer valve. Trials have proven this method can leave a final cake heel of as little as 0.2%. Integrated heel removal gloveboxes can also incorporate contained sampling without the need for complex and expensive valves. The sample nossel is integrated into the discharge hatch enabling a sample to be taken and recovered via the RTP.
